The short version

TutorCruncher is an agency-style platform built around a CRM pipeline, split payments and payroll.

Docet is for operators of physical multi-location centers who care about learning outcomes and retention.

No cut of tuition

TutorCruncher's own comparison article lists Pay as you go at $30/month, Startup at $80/month and Enterprise as custom pricing from $240/month. It says TutorCruncher "only takes at most 1% of your monthly revenue". At $60,000 a month collected, that is up to $600 a month on top of the subscription.

Docet's subscription takes no percentage of tuition. It is a flat tier: Starter ($79/month, 1 location), Growth ($199/month, 5 locations) and Scale ($399/month, 25 locations).

Branches without a quote

The same article lists multiple branches under Enterprise, with custom pricing. Docet Growth includes 5 locations at $199/month, self-serve.

In the room

A tutor taking a coloured curriculum folder from a shelf while holding a printed worksheet
  • Tutors dictate voice notes that Docet transcribes into session notes.
  • The attendance roster has a "Mark all present" shortcut.
  • Tutors rate each topic on a 1–5 mastery scale.
  • A completion checklist closes out each session.

Curriculum folders hold per-topic files that tutors can download for the lesson.

Retention signals

Docet calculates a retention risk score for every student from 30-day attendance, mastery trend, days inactive and overdue invoices. An at-risk dashboard puts the families most likely to leave in front of you, so you can call them before the cancellation email arrives.

AI with sign-off

Docet's AI drafts progress digests from session notes and mastery ratings. An owner or director approves every one before it sends, no child gets more than one per rolling 7 days, and AI stays off until the owner opts in.
