The short version

Teachworks is a general teaching-business tool; its solutions list covers music, driving and language schools. Docet is built only for multi-location tutoring.

Docet wins for center owners on predictable pricing, one organization with scoped roles, voice notes, retention alerts and AI parent updates that you approve.

Pricing

Teachworks' pricing page (October 2026) lists Starter at $16.49/month plus $0.32 per student lesson, Growth at $47.99 plus $0.189, and Premium at $187.99 plus $0.065. A 2-student lesson counts as 2 student lessons.

Docet has flat tiers: Starter ($79/month, 1 location), Growth ($199/month, 5 locations) and Scale ($399/month, 25 locations). There is no per-lesson fee. At 800 student lessons a month, Teachworks Premium costs $239.99; at 1,600 it costs $291.99. Docet Growth stays $199.

One organization, many locations

In Teachworks, multiple locations means a master account that creates and switches between branch accounts. Premium includes the first 5 branch accounts, then $35/month for each additional one.

In Docet every location lives in one organization. Directors see only their assigned locations, tutors only their own sessions, and parents only their own children. Cross-location benchmarks sit on top, and Scale supports up to 25 locations.

In the session

  • Tutors dictate voice notes that Docet transcribes into session notes.
  • The attendance roster has a "Mark all present" shortcut.
  • Tutors rate each topic on a 1–5 mastery scale.
  • A completion checklist closes out each session.

Catching churn early

Docet calculates a retention risk score for every student from 30-day attendance, mastery trend, days inactive and overdue invoices. An at-risk dashboard puts the families most likely to leave in front of you, so you can call them before the cancellation email arrives.

Approved parent updates

Docet's AI drafts progress digests from session notes and mastery ratings. An owner or director approves every one before it sends, no child gets more than one per rolling 7 days, and AI stays off until the owner opts in.
